Youngkin says he desires Virginia to be ‘most military-friendly state in America’

Virginia Gov.-elect Glenn Youngkin mentioned throughout a Wednesday interview that he desires to make the Previous Dominion “essentially the most military-friendly state in America.”

Youngkin made the comment throughout an on-air dialogue with radio host Hugh Hewitt.

“I believe households and army spouses are going to see a a lot completely different strategy from this administration,” Youngkin defined. “One of many issues that we all know is that they’ve a considerably completely different stress on them than a traditional household.”

“We’ve to help it,” Youngkin continued. “That is why we wish Virginia to be essentially the most military-friendly state in America, for lively army and our veterans , as a result of [1-in-11] Virginians is a veteran.”

Youngkin emphasised the upside to creating positive veterans are taken care of: It’s going to end in extra veterans staying within the commonwealth after their army service is completed to “construct their subsequent chapters.”

“It makes our communities higher,” he added.

Youngkin defeated Democratic opponent Terry McAuliffe within the 2021 gubernatorial election final month.

Within the days following the election, Youngkin convened with present Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam, a Democrat, to provoke the transition of energy. Youngkin thanked Northam for his cooperation within the transition interval.
