‘It’s a free country’: Minneapolis man charged with masturbating and threatening TSA agents

A Minneapolis man was charged with assault and making threats of violence after an altercation with Transportation Security Administration agents at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

Frank Towers, 44, was charged with one count of fourth-degree assault and one count of making threats of violence on Friday after police saw him shouting that he was going to “kill” a TSA agent while waving and throwing a line post at the agents, according to the criminal complaint, KARE 11 reported . As the officers attempted to stop Towers, he informed them that he “did not have to stop” because “it’s a free country,” the complaint said.

Towers was stunned , physically restrained, and placed into handcuffs by additional officers as he kept attempting to hit officers, the complaint continued.

After the incident, officers viewed footage from about 3:10 a.m., which showed Towers stripping, masturbating, and punching and head-butting television monitors, according to the criminal complaint.

About an hour later, Towers again undressed and redressed and began throwing a chair at TSA agents prior to his altercation with officers, officials added.

Towers was taken into custody and then booked into Hennepin County Jail.

The Washington Examiner reached out to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office and the Hennepin County Jail for comment but did not receive a response.
