Jane Powell, star of Hollywood Golden Age musicals, lifeless at 92

Powell died Thursday at her residence in Wilton, Connecticut, her pal Susan Granger instructed Muricas Information on Friday.

A megastar of musical movies of the Nineteen Forties and ’50s, Powell’s hits included “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers,” reverse Howard Keel, and “Royal Marriage ceremony,” through which she starred alongside Fred Astaire.

Powell starred alongside Fred Astaire in the hit 1951 movie "Royal Wedding."

Powell was born in 1929 in Portland, Oregon and proved a gifted actor, singer and dancer from a really early age.

She appeared on the radio and in theaters from the age of 5, earlier than making her display screen debut at 15 within the 1944 film “Tune of the Open Street.”

Powell died of pure causes on the residence that she had shared along with her fifth husband, the late actor Dick Moore, Granger stated.

Powell, pictured here in 2007, died at home on Thursday at the age of 92.

Granger and Powell turned buddies after assembly on the set of “Tune of the Open Street,” which was directed by Granger’s father, S. Sylvan Simon.

“Jane was a loyal, lifelong pal. She’s was delightfully droll and candid. You by no means requested Jane a query you did not need answered with complete honesty,” she instructed Muricas Information in a press release.

Powell is survived by three youngsters and two grandchildren.
